Essential oils (EOs, also called volatile or ethereal oils are aromatic oily liquids characterized by a strong odour and produced by different plant material (flowers, buds, seeds, leaves, twigs, bark, herbs, wood, fruits and roots) as secondary metabolites.

Essential oils are liquid, volatile, limpid and rarely colored, soluble in organic solvents generally with a lower density than water. The composition of the volatile fraction of lemon oils varies even among the same species according to the season of production and the area of cultivation. Lemon essential oil are complex mixtures of chemical compounds like limonene, γ-terpinene, citral, linalool and β-caryophyllene among others, which can be represented by three main classes: terpenes, oxygenates and sesquiterpenes.

Sesquiterpenes are a class of terpenes that consist of three isoprene units and have the molecular formula C15H24. Like monoterpenes, sesquiterpenes may be acyclic or contain rings, including many unique combinations.

Soft drink Sprite is the world’s leading lemon and lime-flavored soft drink. Sprite first hit shop shelves in United States back in 1961.  By today it’s sold in more than 190 countries.

Although the clear and colorless appearances of Sprite do not make it look like lemon or lime juice, their colorless bespeaks their non-content of artificial colors.

Sprite is actually simple combinations of lemon and lime flavors with sweeteners. Most consumers do not recognize the citrus flavors in the soft drinks. Instead, they label this lemon-lime flavor as the soda flavor, named after the carbonated soft drinks. In 2013, the recipe of Sprite was change by adding stevia extract.

In launching a website, www.sprite.com, the company staged a party dance built around trendy ‘urban authenticity’ with stars from the hip-hop world.

The entire event was videotape by Spite as it if were a new event. The videotape of the launch party with all its music acts, became paid programming on MTV. By 2000 was the leading soft drink brand among youth.

It is average almost as widely consumed as soda water throughout all parts of the United States.

Lemonade in its simplest form is a drink made from lemon juice, sugar and water. The water which is employed may be either plain, potable water or sometimes water impregnated with carbon dioxide.

The lemon juice which is used in lemonade contains not only the acid citrate of potash as its acidifying agent, but also the aromatic flavors, consisting of oil, ethers, etc., characteristic of the lemon itself.

Lemons offer a wide range of health benefits. They have antibacterial, antiviral and immunity-boosting abilities. Lemonades antibacterial properties help fight infection in the throat and get rid of chest congestion. Its high levels of potassium can help provide relief from dizziness, nausea, and fever.

Its vitamin C content not only fights cancer but also boosts immunity by increasing the body’s white blood cell count, antibodies and interferon.

Lemonade is appreciated primarily as a pleasurable and refreshing beverage, but it has also long been valued for its healthful qualities.
